Marjorie Estelle Richardson – The BayNet

Marjorie Estelle Richardson

On July 29, 2024, Marjorie Estelle Richardson passed away. She was born on March 22, 1937, to Ralph and Mary Hutchinson in Maryland.

Her family meant everything to her. She dedicated herself to organizing upcoming family gatherings, especially the meals. Days were spent preparing and baking, starting a week before each dinner, ensuring a variety of dishes to please everyone.

She married her husband Harry in 1957 after they met at the local dances, hosted in the tobacco warehouse buildings. Together, they raised three children – Sharon, Floyd, and Janet – in Southern Maryland.

Apart from her love for cooking and baking, she found pleasure in bus trips along the East Coast, often persuading her sister Ginny to accompany her on these adventures.

In recent years, she dedicated her time to tending her gardens and earned the title of the local “garage sale lady.” She enjoyed interacting with the visitors to her sales, generously giving away items for free to those who needed them more than she needed the few dollars.

She experienced the passing of her husband in April 2011, followed by the tragic loss of her granddaughter Ashley in a car accident just five months later. Recently, in May 2024, she had to face another heartbreaking loss – her youngest daughter Janet.

She would put family and friends first every time.

She embraced Tee Tee, a cat, into her life, and he became her closest companion for the past year. Besides her children and grandchildren, he held the highest place in her heart.

She spent years baking treats and crafting candies during the holiday season, not only for her family but also for her colleagues and the people in local businesses she frequented. She had a natural talent for connecting with others.

On Sunday, August 4, 2024, the family will receive friends for the visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm with the service beginning at 6:30 pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be private.
