Magic Johnson submits bid to buy Commanders with Maryland billionaires
Basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson has joined forces with Maryland-based billionaires to submit a bid to buy the Washington Commanders, a professional football team in the National Football League (NFL). Johnson, who is known for his successful post-NBA career as an entrepreneur and businessman, has long expressed interest in owning a sports team. If successful, the acquisition would mark Johnson’s entry into the NFL ownership ranks and his second ownership of a sports team, following his successful ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team from 2012 to 2014.
