HUNTINGTOWN, Md. – On June 13, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) participated in the 6th Annual “Kick the Epidemic” kickball event with members of the Calvert County Adult Treatment Court (ATC). This event aims to raise awareness of the ongoing opioid epidemic in the local community and to show solidarity between drug court participants and local law enforcement.

According to CCSO, the game took place at Marley Run Park and was umpired by the Honorable Mark S. Chandlee. Over 80 participants joined in on the fun which included sheriff’s deputies and family and friends cheering them on.

This year, Law Enforcement secured the win with a score of 12-5. Following the event, everyone had the chance to enjoy some pizza and cookies!

“These shared activities greatly contribute to building and maintaining positive community and law enforcement relationships,” said CCSO.
