Justin Timberlake was excited to see a familiar face in the crowd at night two of his Madison Square Garden shows on his Forget Tomorrow Tour.
John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, attended the pop star’s New York City show, cheering JT on from the audience and dancing along to his hits.
Teigen, 38, rocked a “JUSTIN” trucker hat, dancing with Legend, 45, in one video on her Instagram Story.
At one point during the show, Timberlake came out into the audience, declaring, “John Legend in the house, y’all,” and giving Legend a big hug as the crowd cheered.
An eyewitness tells ET that at one point during the show, Timberlake told the crowd that there were a lot of friends and family in the audience, giving his “friend” Legend a special shoutout.
Timberlake also helped one woman announce her pregnancy to her family and friends. Her husband was at home with their kid, and she held up a sign asking the “Cry Me a River” singer to share the pregnancy news. The former NSYNC star jokingly took on a Maury-inspired voice, declaring, “Tell him I said congratulations, ‘You are the father!'”
Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, also attended the show for the second night in a row, appearing backstage in one of her husband’s Instagram Reels, doing a sour candy taste test.
It’s been a tumultuous few weeks for Timberlake, who was arrested on June 18 in Long Island on charges of driving while intoxicated.
A spokesperson for the Sag Harbor Police Department previously told ET that cops observed Timberlake on June 18 at approximately 12:37 a.m. driving a 2025 gray BMW southbound on Madison Street. Cops say he failed to stop at a duly posted stop sign and he failed to stay in his lane.
“A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” the statement continued. Noting that Timberlake failed to adhere to several stop signs, the police said that Timberlake was then pulled over.
“Upon contact with [Timberlake] it was ascertained that [he] was operating said vehicle in intoxicated conditions, in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the police said in a statement.
Timberlake claimed he had “one martini,” which was later corroborated by the bartender who served him.
On June 19, a source told ET, “Justin is feeling remorseful, ashamed, and humiliated, but also accountable.”
According to the source, Timberlake “does not believe he needs help when it comes to alcohol,” instead viewing the incident as a “major lapse of judgement.”
