Nicole Kidman left a lasting impression on her co-star Joey King… and her buns. King, 24, who plays Kidman’s daughter in the new Netflix film, A Family Affair, spoke about Kidman’s impact on her fitness routine during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
“She taught me the most epic, awful butt workout I’ve ever learned in my life. It was, like, so intense,” King said of Kidman, 57. “I was like, ‘I’m a youngster. I can hang. I’m young, and I’m agile.’ I thought I could hang, but I couldn’t hang.”
As for the workout that did King in, she shared, “It was these donkey kicks and the rainbows and the fire hydrants and all these other [moves]. But you have to keep your leg in the air for, like, 12 years. It’s so hard.”
Even though filming wrapped on the comedy, King said that she still practices the workout.
“I do it still because it’s the most effective workout, so I send her photos when I do it. I’m like, ‘Call an ambulance, love you!'” King quipped.
King called the Oscar winner “just a sweet and silly, fun person,” adding, “She’s such a girl’s girl.”
The two starred alongside Zac Efron in the film where King plays Efron’s assistant.
“Her and Zac too, they’re both, like, so hot,” she added of Kidman and Efron. “They’re so hot. They’re the fittest people I’ve ever met. So I became a bit of a tubular gym rat on the set.”
As for the High School Musical alum’s contribution to King’s fitness regimen, she noted, “He was also, again, so fit, and he helped teach me about my protein intake. He’s very helpful with the wellness tips.”
ET spoke with King back in June at the premiere of A Family Affair where she spoke about the lighthearted comedy.
“I hope [audiences] take away a big, ole smile on their face. This movie is so fun,” she told ET. “It’s got a lot of heart to it, but mostly I want people to have so much fun. We’re in our fun era.”
