James Randolph Jackson – The BayNet


James Randolph Jackson, 39, of Waldorf, MD, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2024 at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital with his loving family at his side.

He was born on September 25, 1984 in Clinton, MD to James David and Eva Kathleen (Post) Jackson of Mechanicsville, MD.  He was affectionately known as Randy to his family.

James (Randy) is a lifelong resident of Southern Maryland and a 2002 graduate of LaPlata High School. On December 6, 2008, he married his beloved wife, Laura Elizabeth (Bivens) Jackson in La Plata, MD. Together they have celebrated over 15 wonderful years of marriage. He has spent his career working as a Pharmacy Technician and was currently employed by MedStar Health. 

James (Randy) had a passion for hard rock music. His favorite bands were Metallica and Pantera. He shared his love of music with his son, and they enjoyed going to concerts together. He enjoyed playing guitar, paintball, golf and gaming with his friends and family. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was his daughter’s biggest fan and was front and center for her private living room dance recitals. He and his family enjoyed vacationing in Disney World and were looking forward to another vacation. Family was also his top priority and was up for any adventure with his children.  

In addition to his loving parents and beloved wife, James (Randy) is also survived by his children, Chad and Emma Jackson; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Hayden; maternal grandfather, James Post. He is also survived by his in-laws, Ken and Julie Bivens; many uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family and friends. James (Randy) is preceded in death by his daughter, Leah Jackson; maternal grandmother, Theresa Post; and paternal grandfather, Harold Jackson. 

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service celebrated by Deacon Martin at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will follow at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, 3320 St. Peters Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Chris Post, Kevin Post, Seth Henley, Kevin Hogston, Mike Jackson, and Matthew Post.
