Remedy (medical dispensary) in Maryland with has two locations – Baltimore and flagship store in Columbia. The Columbia location is moving to a bigger footprint (10,000 sq feet) and opens to the public December 1.

They have begun partnerships with large name-brand cannabis companies, such as: Cookies, GTI, SunMed, Trulieve, Curio Wellness, and Holistic Industries to create “stores within a store” much like branded beauty counters in traditional department stores.

“In 2022, retail is all about experience. We have a unique market in Maryland with only approximately 17 cultivators/growers. The retail outlets are selling a lot of the same products. This leads to price compression happening more quickly than non-limited license markets. We see our ‘Nordstroms’—’store-within-a-store’ model as a way to counteract this phenomenon,” said Remedy Co-Founder, Mitch Trellis.

“By creating a place where brands can meet patients where they are. Patients get a chance to experience the brand. Both parties benefit and form meaningful connections. Patients can understand the value proposition (equation) certain products offer, and producers get a chance to educate on key differentiators and connect with the patients.”

Mitch Trellis, co-founder, co-CEO, and medical cannabis patient, is an entrepreneur with varied experience in commodities trading, hedge fund analyst, business consulting, retail and restaurants and hedge funds. Teaming up with his lifelong friend and healthcare wellness executive, co- founder Blaize Connelly-Duggan balanced.

Brandon Barksdale, co-CEO, has been in the cannabis industry for nearly a decade.
