Donald Sutherland, the iconic actor renowned for his extensive filmography, passed away in Miami at the age of 88 after a prolonged illness. Sutherland’s illustrious career spanned decades and included notable roles in classic films such as The Dirty Dozen, MASH, Klute, Animal House, Ordinary People, Pride & Prejudice, and The Hunger Games franchise. He also won an Emmy for his performance in Citizen X. In 2017, he was honored with an Honorary Oscar for his contributions to the film industry.
Sutherland is survived by his sons, Kiefer Sutherland, an Emmy-winning actor known for 24 and Designated Survivor, and Roeg Sutherland, a veteran CAA Media Finance executive.
