HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — Emergency personnel responded to an unusual call yesterday evening, July 3, 2024, when a horse fell through a pool cover on the 800 Block of Warner Drive.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a horse named “Slick” stuck in the shallow end of an empty pool. Members of the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department quickly removed the pool cover from around Slick’s neck.
With the assistance of Calvert County Animal Control, a bridle was placed on the horse. Slick was then coaxed out of the pool and turned over to Bay Equine Service.
After a thorough assessment, Slick was deemed to be in good health!
