LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – A severe motor vehicle accident involving a car and a motorcycle was reported at 9:08 PM on August 12, 2024, at the Family Dollar located in the 21700 block of Great Mills Road.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, where they found the motorcyclist with critical injuries. Due to the severity of the situation, a medical helicopter is en route to transport the patient to the Maryland State Police Aviation Command (MSPAC) hangar, where Trooper 2 is awaiting to transfer the injured rider to a trauma center.
Great Mills Road has been closed and will remain shut down for an extended period as authorities conduct a thorough investigation into the accident. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work without obstruction.
