Firearms were stolen from parked cars at Indiana’s Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel last week.
The thefts took place at about 2 a.m. Friday. The cars were left unattended at the casino’s north parking lot, according to Indiana TV station WFIE.
One vehicle, a Dodge Charger, had its rear left window smashed in. A loaded 9mm handgun was stolen from inside the car. A loaded 9 mm handgun was also stolen from a Ford Fusion in the parking lot after its rear left window was removed. It was found in the lot.
The suspect is being sought. No value was provided for the missing guns.
Man Shot Dead at California Restaurant
California police are searching for the man who fatally wounded a victim while both were in a restaurant on Saturday.
The deadly incident took place at about 8 p.m. at Salvimex Restaurant located on South Vermont Avenue near Rosecrans Avenue in Gardena, Calif.
Police told Los Angeles TV station KTLA that the restaurant was the site of an alleged illegal casino. The allegations have yet to be confirmed.
Both the shooter and the victim were regular customers at the restaurant, police revealed.
Both men were sitting at different tables when suspect stood up, and without warning, approached the victim and shot him. At least one bullet hit the victim in the chest and he died at the scene.
Police didn’t immediately identify the victim who was described as a 35-year-old man. No word if the victim and shooter knew each other before the incident.
It’s likely an autopsy will be performed to confirm the victim’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
The suspect was last seen driving away from the restaurant. Authorities hadn’t released his description as of Monday, though he’s believed to be between 35 and 40 years of age.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman said it wasn’t known if the shooting was gang-related, according to the Daily Breeze, a California online news site.
Two Men Enter Guilty Pleas
Two defendants in Michigan recently pled guilty to conducting a gambling operation without a license.
Linos Antonio Kas-Mikha, 52, of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Robert Jameson, 55, of Saginaw, Mich., were arrested after police investigated an illegal storefront casino in Flint, according to Michigan TV station WJRT.
Kas-Mikha will be sentenced on November 25 while Jameson will be sentenced on December 2.
They face up to 10 years in prison and could be forced to pay as much as $100K in fines.
