LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On June 20, 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the transition of the current Millison Plaza to the future Pax River Village Center.
Upon completion, the shopping center will be renamed Pax River Village Center and will include new streetscapes, parking, and businesses in revamped buildings. According to St. Mary’s County Economic Development, phase one of the project will be a $45 million makeover that is set to be completed by summer 2025.
The project will mainly revolve around improvements to existing properties and the demolition of the vacant hotel. Two brand new businesses will also be added to the development, which will include ALDI and Starbucks. The Starbucks will reportedly be a military-themed location.
