DUNKIRK, Md. – On July 7, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Calvert 911 received multiple calls reporting a large house fire in the 3400 block of Old Jones Road in Dunkirk. Fortunately, all residents had self-evacuated before the arrival of emergency personnel. Now, a GoFundMe page has been created to help assist the family during this tough time.
“After the flames died, only half of our house remained, with many of our personal belongings being completely destroyed. In addition, all but one of our vehicles succumbed to the fire. Our family’s road to recovery will be a long one, but we simply need to be able to have clothes to wear and food to eat,” stated Adrian Glowacki via the GoFundMe page.

In just over 24 hours since the incident, the GoFundMe has already raised nearly $24,000 at the time of this report.
“Less than 24 hours since this tragedy occurred, you all have absolutely shattered any expectation. Everyone in the family wants to give an absolutely massive THANK YOU to everyone who has been so generous to contribute and/or share our link online to help spread the word. We knew our community had our back, but this is extraordinary,” said Glowacki.
“We’ve had to adjust the goal of the campaign multiple times now just to keep up with the influx of donations. Whether you gave $5 dollars or $500 (or more, which, what?? Thank you so much!), we truly appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts. This money will go to helping us buy clothes to wear for the upcoming weeks, as well as meals. With this money, we can really work on getting our lives back to some semblance of normalcy during this incredibly awful time. Please keep our family in your thoughts going forward.”
