Glen Powell and His ‘Twisters’ Co-Stars Shotgun Beers With Luke Combs Onstage

There were no longneck ice cold beers in sight but a few 12-ounce cans were perfect for this occasion with country star Luke Combs, who invited Glen Powell and his Twisters co-stars to join him onstage to shotgun some beers.

The awesome moment went down Friday night at MetLife Stadium where the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” crooner invited Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos onstage. It was quite the occasion for a few reasons. For starters, Combs resumed his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour in East Rutherford, New Jersey after taking a quick break. Then there’s the Twisters cast, which celebrated a huge box office opening. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twisters had a record $74.6 million domestic opening.

With lots to celebrate — and on the heels of Combs and his crew previewing the film at the stadium’s Jumbotron — the country singer trotted out the Twisters stars to shotgun beers. There’s awesome video circulating on social media showing the trio walk onstage holding Miller Lites. And right on cue, led by Combs, they all chug the booze.

A great time was had by all, especially Powell, who hilariously followed Combs in also chucking the can. Never mind the spillage!

Ahead of his concert, Combs took to Instagram and shared that he and “the whole team … got to see the new @twistersmovie on the Jumbotron. Wow. What a night and what a flick.”

Powell’s been getting a lot of support in the lead-up to the film hitting theaters. Earlier this month, his friend and Top Gun: Maverick co-star Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the London premiere.

Cruise and Powell posed together with two buckets of popcorn, capturing the fun of the evening. Cruise shared his excitement on Instagram on Monday, writing, “Fun night with friends, watching a movie!!”

Powell shared the same photo, writing, “When your wingman follows you into the storm…”

The friendship between Cruise and Powell blossomed during the production of Top Gun: Maverick, which also became a monumental hit following its release in 2022.
