PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – After headlining cruise ships for nearly four months with his hit one-man show, Adult DayCare, Southern Maryland’s own Reggie Rice is returning home for a special one-night-only performance. Known for his jaw-dropping illusions and infectious humor, Reggie is ready to captivate his hometown audience at the St. John Vianney Family Life Center on October 5th, 2024.
“There’s nothing like coming back home,” Reggie said with a smile. “I’ve traveled the world, but performing for my community in Southern Maryland means the world to me. It’s like a family reunion – only with more magic and less awkward small talk!”
His journey back to the stage hasn’t been without its challenges. In April, Reggie experienced a major setback while performing on a cruise ship in the Bahamas. A moped accident left him with a broken collarbone, a few fractured toes, and the need for surgery. But in true Reggie fashion, he handled the situation with humor and positivity. “I like to tell people I broke my collarbone saving five children from a burning building… with five puppies as well!” he joked. “Of course, that’s not true, but you have to stay light-hearted even in tough times.”
Despite being out of work for nearly 10 weeks, nothing could stop Reggie from bouncing back and following his dreams. After recovering, he hit the stage stronger than ever, performing his Fool of Illusions show at two North Carolina venues: The Dunn Center at NC Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount and The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center. Both performances were a huge success, filled with laughter and applause, proving that Reggie’s magic and spirit are truly unbreakable.
Now, he’s bringing that same energy and passion back to where it all began. “It’s been 16 years since I last performed at this venue, and I’m so excited to be back. I promise it’ll be a night to remember!”
