Four Suspects Charged In Connection With July Fatal Stabbing In Prince George's County

HYATTSVILLE, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged four suspects in connection with a fatal stabbing in July in the city of Hyattsville.

The suspects are 18-year-old Daniel Villanueva Bautista of Washington, DC, 23-year-old Maxwel Quijano Casco of Hyattsville, 28-year-old Josue Lainez of Columbia, MD, and 29-year-old David Perlera-Gonzalez of Highland, MD. They are charged in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Samuel Garcia Rojas.

On July 5, 2024, at approximately 9:35 am, officers with the Hyattsville City Police Department responded to the 5300 block of Ager Road for the call of a check welfare. Once on scene, they located the victim in a vehicle suffering from trauma. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was stabbed following a dispute. 

The four suspects are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the city of Hyattsville.
