LEONARDTOWN, Md. – In the early hours of August 2, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to a structure fire on Point Lookout Road near Lightfoot Way.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a two-story “cape cod” style residence with flames visibly emanating from the rear of the house. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior assault using multiple hand lines, and conducted thorough searches of the property, which yielded no occupants.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported at this time.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal has been called to the scene to conduct a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire.
