Firefighters Battle Early Morning House Fire In La Plata

LA PLATA, Md. – On July 6, 2024, at 2:00 a.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a structure fire on Ellenwood Court near Prince Charles Drive.

Crews arrived to find a two-story house with fire showing from the attached garage on the right side of the structure.

Firefighters knocked down the exterior fire and then advanced through the interior to complete extinguishment. Crews established a tanker fill site at Clark Senior Center. Firefighters completed searches and checked for extension.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours performing overhaul and mopping up. Units returned to service at 5:42 a.m. The Office of the State Fire Marshal continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
