EDGEWATER, Md. — On July 9, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash in the wooded area near Central Avenue and Stepneys Lane in Edgewater.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a blue 2021 Hyundai Kona that had left the roadway, struck a tree and came to rest in a ditch off the side of the road.
The single occupant and driver of the vehicle, identified as Richard Brenton Schulze, 46, of Edgewater, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department Traffic Safety Section is currently investigating the crash.
