EDGEWATER, Md. – On August 9, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment in the unit block of South River S in Edgewater. Responding officers located an adult female and an adult male at the scene with apparent stab wounds.
Officers immediately provided medical aid. The female, identified as 47-year-old Nancianne S Houston of Edgewater, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Fire Department personnel.
The 58-year-old male was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious, life-threatening injuries to his upper body and an extremity.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Preliminary information indicates the male and female were known to each other and were involved in an altercation when the stabbings occurred.
