MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — In the early hours of August 1, 2024, at about 3:52 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Thompsons Corner Road near Lockes Crossing Road.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a Kia Soul that had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree, resulting in one occupant being trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters acted quickly, extricating the trapped individual and handing them over to EMS for medical evaluation.
EMS assessed a total of two patients at the scene. One patient was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for further treatment, while the second patient declined additional medical care.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
