EA College Football ’25 servers down: Players unable to connect and aren’t taking it well


EA’s highly anticipated game College Football ’25 has seemingly caused issues with the servers before it has even officially been released.

Lots of folks seemingly opted to pay extra to get early access to the game, scheduled for wide release on Friday. Social media has been flooded with complaints from people saying they’re getting an error message when trying to connect to College Football ’25‘s servers.

It’s hard to overstate the anticipation surrounding this game. Long considered the best sports gaming franchise, it disappeared for a decade due to NCAA compensation rules. College Football ’25 represented a dream delayed for a decade.

A screenshot captured the night of its early release on Monday suggested more than 600,000 people were playing online hours after it dropped. That kind of demand could be the reason EA has struggled to keep it servers up, even if the classic way of playing a college football video game is totally offline. Some users have suggested disconnecting your console from the internet to access the offline Dynasty Mode in the game.

For gamers’ reference, EA has a tool to check the server status of its games. And, yes, it does indicate that College Football ’25 was experiencing issues. Hopefully the problem gets resolved soon.
