WALDORF, Md. – On July 30, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police, animal control, and rescue personnel responded to a reported dog bite attack at a home in the 2500 block of Lisa Drive.
EMS arrived and found a 27-year-old man suffering from severe dog bite injuries to his arm. The caller advised that the bleeding was so severe that bleeding control instructions were given by the dispatcher while the patient waited in his driveway for EMS. Upon arrival, EMS applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding.
The patient was transported to Capital Region Medical Center and will more than likely need to be transferred to shock trauma for further treatment. We are awaiting additional information from Charles County Animal Control but have not heard back yet.
This incident is currently under investigation. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
