Deadly Domestic Dispute In Edgewater Leaves One Dead, Another Charged With Murder

EDGEWATER, Md. – In a shocking turn of events, a domestic dispute in Edgewater has resulted in one death and murder charges.

On August 9, 2024, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at an apartment on South River Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims with apparent stab wounds. Nancianne S. Houston, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 58-year-old male was rushed to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives secured an arrest warrant for James Strachan Houston, 58, on September 25. He faces charges of first and second-degree murder, along with related assault charges.

Houston was apprehended by the Anne Arundel County Police Fugitive Apprehension Team on September 27 and taken to the Jennifer Road Detention Center for processing.
