ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman continued her Take a Look with Brooke tour Friday, visiting local businesses and community facilities in Southern Anne Arundel and Calvert Counties.

Comptroller began her day with a roundtable discussion with the Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce at the South County Café in Deale. Comptroller Lierman shared key accomplishments for the agency and initiatives designed to address the needs of the business community.
On a tour of the Herrington Harbour South marina, Comptroller Lierman learned about challenges in the marine industry.
Comptroller Lierman then traveled to Calvert County, where she toured Herrington Harbour South, a resort marina with 600 boat slips, lodging, dining, and wedding venues. The resort is the largest employer in the area and the Comptroller was given an overview of the marina industry.

Comptroller Lierman also visited the new $12.5 million Calvert County Library, Twin Beaches Branch. The new location, which serves North Beach and Chesapeake Beach communities, opened April 16. During her visit, the Comptroller briefed the Calvert County Commissioners on the work of her agency, and developments relevant to resources allocated to Calvert County. They were joined on the library tour by Maryland State Librarian Morgan Lehr Miller.
Comptroller Lierman viewed plans for the new Armory Square Retail Development in Prince Frederick.
The Comptroller also toured the site of the Armory Square Retail Development in Prince Frederick. The new 12-acre retail parcel will feature more than a dozen local and national retailers, and is expected to bring 300 new jobs and additional tax revenue to the area.
Comptroller Lierman toured the new county-run Chesapeake Hills Golf Course Clubhouse, which is available to the public.
Comptroller Lierman also toured the Calvert County-owned and operated Chesapeake Hills Golf Club, which features an 8,150-square-foot recreational facility with full-service amenities, including dining options, conference space, and a banquet and catering space. The facility opened March 12.
Comptroller Lierman visited the Horsmon Farm in St. Leonard which includes agritourism as part of its business model.
Comptroller Lierman ended her tour at Horsmon Farm in St. Leonard. Horsmon Farm is a fourth-generation family farm managed by JR and Cathy Cosgrove. The farm offers farm-raised beef, pork products, and in-season produce boxes and educational activities. Horsmon Farm also offers tours to families and school children to learn more about farming.
