
WALDORF, Md. – The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Charles County Public Schools’ (CCPS) 2024 Youth Achievement Program kicked off yesterday, Monday, June 17.
According to CCPS’ website, “The program incorporates life skills classes taken from the Healthy Choices/Healthy Children and Arise curriculums. These programs include a variety of real-world life lessons covering topics such as personal responsibility, sportsmanship, decision-making, conflict resolution, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, gang prevention, substance abuse prevention, bullying prevention, nutrition, and self-management.”

To kick off the free 2-week program, which includes students from grades 5 through 8, Sheriff Troy Berry visited the camp to give remarks and advice to the students.
The program will conclude with an exciting Kings Dominion field trip on June 27th.
“We are grateful for our continued partnership with CCPS,” stated the Sheriff’s Office.
