PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Richie Aaron Harper, a 46-year-old resident of Prince Frederick, Maryland, was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing multiple disturbances at the Giant grocery store on Solomons Island Road.
Harper’s erratic behavior, which included shouting profanities and approaching vehicles aggressively, led to several calls to the Calvert County police.
According to court documents, Richie Aaron Harper began his disruptive actions earlier in the day, including incidents at a nearby hospital where he yelled at staff and walked in and out of traffic on Solomons Island Road.
At the Giant grocery store, Harper was seen tearing down signs and engaging in disorderly conduct by confronting people in the parking lot. Witnesses reported that Harper appeared agitated and uncooperative when law enforcement arrived on the scene.
Despite the severity of his actions, the Giant store chose not to press charges for the property damage, as the sign was easily reinstalled. However, Harper was arrested for disorderly conduct and later released on his own recognizance. During his initial court appearance, he waived his right to an attorney.
Richie Aaron Harper is scheduled for trial in Calvert District Court on August 23, 2024. The trial will take place in Courtroom 1, where Harper will face charges of disorderly conduct in connection to the incidents at the Giant grocery.
