CALVERT COUNTY, Md. – On Monday, June 24, 2024, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) School Resource Officers (SROs) kicked off Camp JR Sheriff. This camp aims to teach youth the importance of discipline, self-respect, integrity, and teamwork.
According to CCSO, “This week-long camp transforms the traditional role of the law enforcement officer into one of a mentor and friend while encouraging youth to be partners in building a safer community.”
The camp is available to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Campers were welcomed by Sheriff Ricky Cox, who delivered opening remarks at the beginning of the day.

“We have a great group this year and are excited to share the memories made along the way,” said CCSO.
