LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Capt. Smith of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on an ongoing situation in Lexington Park on August 8, 2024.
“Early this morning, we responded to the Willowgate townhomes located in the Columbia Commons community within Lexington Park for reports of shots fired. Throughout the investigation, we were able to determine a residence that was involved that may have subjects still inside. A barricade was declared during the situation, which has since been resolved.
The investigation is ongoing within the area and we request for the community to be patient with us as our officers and our crime lab technicians are still moving throughout the area and we’ll provide more updates when they become available,” said Capt. Smith.
