MS is one of the most critical services providing ambulances, paramedics, and EMTs during emergencies.
When someone calls 911, in rural Allegany County Maryland, EMS responds to calls in an average of under 10 minutes, which is quite the challenge for crew members like Matthew Krause.
“The winding of the roads, there’s no streetlights, and a lot of wildlife,” said Krause, a Lieutenant with Allegany County EMS. “Unlike cities where most streets are straight and well lit, here unless you’re familiar with the twists and corners it reduces the speed you can respond to emergencies.”
