WALDORF, Md. – On September 16, 2024, at approximately 1:18 p.m., police and emergency personnel responded to Lewisham Place in Waldorf, for a reported shooting.
Police arrived first on the scene and found a male victim with gunshot wounds lying in the grass. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses stated they heard multiple gunshots and saw the suspects flee in a U-Haul truck.
Patrol officers pursued the vehicle and apprehended two suspects in area of Crain Highway at Plaza Drive.
The identity of the victim will be released once a next of kin has been notified.
Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
