MILLERSVILLE, Md. – The Animal Matters Commission is an official group in Anne Arundel County that hears complaints about issues involving animals around the county.
The commission has a few responsibilities, which include hearing “appeals of citations issued based on Affidavits of Complaint, suspension/denial or revocation of licenses, and Administrative Orders by the Agency,” according to their official webpage.
The Animal Matters Commission is made up of seven members. Members are a diverse group of experts, including citizens, a veterinarian, a representative from the Anne Arundel Police Department, and a representative from the Health Department.
Every month, the Animal Matters Commission meets to discuss. The next meeting will take place on September 9th at 9:00 am at 411 Maxwell Frye Road, Millersville, MD 21108, inside the Animal Care & Control building. You can also join the meeting via Zoom by sending an email request to p93299@aacounty.org before September 7th.
The upcoming meeting on September 9th will center around three primary cases. An Unknown Pitbull Public Safety Threat, an Unknown Golden Retriever Disturbance, and a Search and Seizure of 9 Dogs and 33 Chickens are all on the agenda.
If you can’t make it to September’s meeting but still want to get involved with the Animal Matters Commission, then you can join one of the other meetings in 2024. Below are the dates of each upcoming meeting.
