Raveena Tandon, known for her iconic roles in Bollywood, has always been a trailblazer in the industry. Her recent interview with Filmfare sheds light on a pivotal career moment that involved Shah Rukh Khan and a project that didn’t quite work out.
In an exclusive chat In the Ring With Filmfare, Raveena revealed why she withdrew from a film opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She explained that the turning point came during discussions about the costumes. “The costumes were really weird and uncomfortable. They were not something I would feel comfortable wearing, and I thought they were a bit too objectifying,” Raveena said. Her discomfort with the outfit, which she felt was demeaning, was a significant factor in her decision to leave the project.
Raveena also praised Shah Rukh Khan, calling him one of the “wittiest, warmest, and gentlemanly co-actors” she has worked with. When Shah Rukh learned she was dropping out of the film, she expressed her feelings to him, saying, “I’ll feel funny, I’ll feel strange.”
Raveena’s candid remarks highlight her commitment to maintaining dignity and comfort in her roles, even when it meant stepping away from promising projects.
