WASHINGTON D.C. – Knowledge Boxing Center’s professional fighter, Tremaine “Teddy P” Fuller, secured a unanimous decision win in a four-round match on August 3 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on the Davis Boxing Promotions card.
The next amateur boxing event is scheduled for August 10 at Truth Bible Church. The 31-year-old southpaw marked his fifth wedding anniversary with a victory over Joshua Zimmerman of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Fuller achieved a knockdown at the end of the second round. The judges scored the bout 40-35, 40-35, and 39-36. Fuller mentioned he focuses on maintaining peak fitness to perform at his best, even when he doesn’t know much about his opponent.
“The result of the fight will take care of itself,” Fuller said. His performance on Saturday night confirmed this, showcasing his top-level fitness and skill.
Before the fight, Fuller expressed his commitment to giving his all in every match, stating he always entertains and never slacks off.
Competing in the Washington D.C. Golden Gloves Championships was a significant milestone in his amateur career, which includes over 30 fights. Fuller recalled the 2020 Golden Gloves as particularly memorable, despite the tournament being halted by COVID-19 just before the championship fight.
“One lesson I’ve learned is that your dreams will come to fruition when you’re ready for them, not necessarily when you want them to,” Fuller shared. “Patience and hard work are crucial to being prepared for the moment when it arrives.”
Fuller hopes his platform can inspire others to pursue their passions and connect with like-minded people to succeed together.
Fuller draws motivation from showing young people that they can achieve their goals regardless of their background. He emphasized the importance of avoiding negative influences and staying focused on one’s goals.
“I understand that not everyone gets to do what they love every day. I am fortunate and don’t take it for granted, as I am living a blessing,” he said.
Fuller acknowledged encountering many talented individuals who gave in to negative peer pressures. He believes it’s important to be oneself and make good decisions, which has helped him navigate life’s challenges and succeed.
Fuller’s passion for boxing began at 16, but he joined the military after high school. After his first fight, he felt a sense of accomplishment and knew he had achieved something significant. Following a hiatus while serving in the United States Marine Corps, he has been consistently boxing for seven years since moving to Lexington Park and joining the Knowledge Boxing Center family. He believes that hard work can make dreams come true.
Knowledge Boxing Center owner and head coach Daryl Hinmon announced they are finalizing the bouts for the August 10 event at Truth Bible Church in Prince Frederick, MD.
“Expect an exciting show,” Hinmon said, highlighting crowd favorites Isaiah “Savage” Buck and Shanta “Chocolate” Jones from Calvert County. He also mentioned a special guest, retired heavyweight champion Ray Mercer.
“We are thrilled to bring retired boxers to Southern Maryland for our fans to meet, get autographs, and take pictures,” Hinmon added. “It’s important to appreciate these warriors who give a part of themselves every time they step in the ring. As boxing fans, we owe them our gratitude.”
