Yesterday we heard that only the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get some camera upgrades next year, while the vanilla S25 and the S25+ won’t. Today some more details about the previously leaked improvements to the S25 Ultra’s camera system have been outed on X.
According to this rumor, the S25 Ultra will have a new version of Samsung’s 1/2.76″ ISOCELL JN1 sensor, which is slightly smaller than the one in the S24 Ultra and has 50 MP resolution.
Moving on, the 3x telephoto camera will allegedly come with a new 1/3″ Samsung ISOCELL sensor, which is slightly larger than the one used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and also has 50 MP resolution like the S25 Ultra’s ultrawide snapper.
Additionally, Samsung is apparently preparing new algorithms which should improve the quality of photos and videos too, but no further details were shared regarding these “as it’s really too early”, according to the source.
The main sensor will be the same size as the S24 Ultra’s and in fact it could be the exact same sensor too. There’s still plenty of time to go until the S25 family‘s introduction which will most likely take place in January 2025, so we expect to hear a lot more about them until then.
