Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page is joined with Alamance Sheriff Terry Johnson, as they discuss their recent trip to Washington, D.C.. Where they and a delegation of Sheriffs from North Carolina, along with Iowa, Maryland and Arizona, to meet with U.S. Congressional Representatives and I.C.E., (Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials) for the purpose to hold open dialogue on the topics of Illegal Immigration and Crime, Mexican Drug Cartels, Gangs and their Impact in our communities, Current Immigration programs such as 287-G and Secure Communities Program.

Those present were asked to commit to continue to build upon this National Security effort with local Sheriffs to work with U.S. Congress in a non-partisan process to seek solutions to these problems that we face.

Sheriff Same Page, NC, Past-President North Carolina Sheriff’s Association, and Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, Mayland: are members of the National Sheriff’s Association on Immigration and Border Security Committee. This Committee will convene in Washington D.C. in Jan. 2012.
